Happy New Year GardenComm friends! This past week GardenComm kicked off the new year in Baltimore, MD at MANTS23. Members attended the trade show, participate in a new plant/new product presentation, gathered to work, rest or engage in conversation in the show press room and then attend a connect meeting at the Lord Baltimore Hotel. It was great to see so many people in person!
This week members will gather in the Sunshine State at TPIE in Tampa, Florida and boy, this houseplant and tropical lover sure wishes she was there too! If you attend, say hi to my son Robert in the Fleurizon booth. Tell him his mama sent you. đ
Our virtual series, Pathways to Professionalism, also kicks off this week. This series of 6 stand-alone webinars are designed to help you level-up your communication skills. You can sign-up for 1, 2 or all sessions. Myself and Diane Blazek of the National Garden Bureau and All-America Selections are presenting this Thursday, January 19th, at 7PM EST. Weâre going to provide a behind the scenes look at how the green industry works, including all the things âyou donât know that you donât knowâ that will help you be a better garden communicator, whether your audience is the trade or consumer sector. I hope youâll sign-up today as I know it will be worth your while.
If you have not visited the Events page on our website I encourage you to do so. I looked at it over the holidays and was impressed. I havenât seen this many opportunities in a long time. There are both in-person and virtual events already announced, more getting ready to go live soon and others still in the planning stages. GardenComm is firing on all cylinders baby!
Events are not the only plans in the works. Staff has worked diligently behind the scenes to put together a roadmap that lays out the path forward for GardenComm. Our Executive Director, Chris Sabbarese, is hosting a free "Ask Me Anything"on Wednesday, January 25th at 4PM PST /7PM EST, to present the new GardenComm vision. Whether you are a current or former member, or just want to see where GardenComm is headed and how you can benefit by being involved, this is for you. Bring your dinner or drink, sit back, relax and listen with the ability to ask questions. If you want to be in the know but canât attend, sign-up anyway so you can get the recording.
In closing, thank you to those who have renewed their membership. If you havenât yet, weâd love to have you back so you donât miss a thing. Renew or sign-up here.
Thank you,
Maria Zampini
GardenComm President
